Lavanya has spent more than a decade reporting on travel, conservation, culture, pet welfare, and regenerative tourism. Her recent move from New York to Boulder deepened her connection to landscapes, wildlife, and the outdoors.

Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, National Geographic, Travel + Leisure, Fodor’s, Lonely Planet, USA Today, Great Pet Care, and AAHA’s Trends, among many others. She is the recipient of the SATW Foundation’s Lowell Thomas Award for excellence in travel journalism in 2022 and 2023.
