I am a writer, animal lover, and globetrotter based in New York City. I spent my childhood in South India with an appreciation for nature, and immigrated to the United States when I was 14. In my twenties, I became interested in travel and wildlife conservation when I came upon The Jeff Corwin Experience. Over the years, I traveled the world in search of my own adventures. I spotted the critically endangered black rhino in Kenya, camped in the Serengeti, snorkeled with sea lions and sharks in the Galápagos, kayaked with otters in Alaska, studied humpback whales in Costa Rica, and cared for orphaned wallabies in Australia.
As a writer, I combine my love of animals and passion for traveling. My work has appeared in various publications, including The New York Times, Fodor’s Travel, The Dodo, BarkPost, Salon, and ShermansTravel. For two years, I wrote a weekly column focused on pets and animal rescue for NBC Petside. In December 2012, one of my dreams came true when I collaborated with Jeff Corwin and edited the first eBook titled Jeff’s Explorer Series: Sharks.
I currently cover luxury travel, eco-tourism, lifestyle, culture, pets, and conservation for magazines and high-traffic websites. I am always open to new opportunities, so please feel free to connect.
